Studies

Standing committees

AFFORDABLE HOUSING

The Affordable Housing Committee monitors and encourages the implementation of Los Alamos County's affordable housing policies.

LOCAL GOVERNMENT

The Local Government Committee observes and reports on the activities of the County Council, the Planning and Zoning Commission, the Utilities Board, and other boards and commissions whose activities are the subject of League interests.

CHILD CARE

The Child Care Committee advocates for and presents information on the development of child-care facilities in the community.

ELECTION REFORM

The Election Reform Committee studies voting issues that affect our governance. Topics include campaign finance reform, same-day registration, Congressional redistricting, instant run-off voting, approval voting, public access to election software, national uniformity in election law, and direct Presidential election. Congressional redistricting and alternative voting systems are the subject of a current state study.
