Santa Clara Pueblo.

Plan let to the appointment of a Citizens' Review Panel. |

Voters' Services: Held a forum on the proposed constitutional amendments on educational issues.
The Legislative preview featured Jeannette Wallace and Craig O'Hare. Held a
workshop on "Lobbying from Your Living Room".
Several members helped lobby with the LWVNM Action Committee. |

Voting: Formed a voting committee to study voting issues including the rise of the direct electronic voting machine. Petitioned LWVUS to stop lobbying in favor of DREs. Members of the committee helped convince the County Council not to approve the purchase of DREs by the County Clerk. |

Lunch with a Leader hosted Rep. Jeannette Wallace, Aretha Ferrell-Brown (new assistant county
administrator), and Kim Kiel (socially responsible investing). Donna Dreska, new
county administrator, spoke at an evening membership meeting. The annual meeting speaker was
Stan Euston on the NM renewable energy campaign.

Sustainability: Participated in the New Mexico First Town Hall on creating a sustainable economy in Los Alamos. Sponsored a talk about Smart Growth by Chris Leinberger. Produced "The People Speak: Prosperity and Globalization", for which we received a grant from the United Nations Foundation, followed up with a talk by Julia Demichelis. Developed and taught the course "Sustainable Solutions in an Overused World" at UNM/LA. |

Local Government: Observed the rewriting of the Comprehensive Plan Policy document. Participated in stakeholders' meetings to discuss solid waste issues. Hosted the annual legislative preview in January. |

Voters' Services: Held the first pre-primary candidates forum as well as candidates forums
for the local candidates for the general election in November and for school board and UNM advisory board candidates
in February. |

Voting: Worked at the National Convention to reverse the LWVUS position opposing voter-verified paper ballots. Hosted a talk by Charlie Strauss about electronic voting. Supported legislation to require recountable ballots and random recounts. |
