Lott served as the program manager for resources management at Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park. In that role, he was named the 2005 recipient of the director's award for natural resource management in a small park. He also recently completed 20 years of service with the Army National Guard, where he commanded the 1086th Transportation Company in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in Iraq during 2003. Immediately prior to coming to Bandelier, Lott was the superintendent at Casa Grande Ruins National Monument. "Jason brings to his new job a passion for heritage preservation and protection, and a commitment to connect with the people of Los Alamos and surrounding communities", said regional director Mike Snyder. "He has a wealth of experience and a deep appreciation for the parks."

What a wonderful place for a career and for my family." Lott, his wife Wendy, also a graduate of Northwestern State, and their two children are excited to make their home in Los Alamos. Lott holds a master's degree in history with an emphasis in cultural resource management from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana.
