General Information

The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization, encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.

The League of Women Voters has two separate and distinct roles:

  • Voter Service and Citizen Education We present unbiased nonpartisan information about elections, the voting process, and issues.

  • Action/Advocacy We are nonpartisan but, after study, we use our positions to advocate for or against particular policies in the public interest.

Who's In Charge?, with contact information for federal, state and local elected officials as well as for Los Alamos County services and schools, is now available on line from the Voter Information page (not yet updated for 2009.)
